Origin:   South America, Peru, Shipibo People  (Provenance: Previously in a San Francisco Bay Area collection)

Period/Date: Circa mid 20th century

Materials: terra-cotta, natural earth paints, salt glaze?

Dimensions:  Height 19" (48.5 cm),  Width 14.75"  (37.5 cm) 

Description:  Here is a classic pre-fired painted masato storage-fermentation jar called a "chomo ani".  In good condition with no apparent damage or restoration.
