Origin:  W. Africa Nigeria  (Provenance: From an old collection in Leeds England)

Period/Date:  Circa 1920s-30s

Materials:  Carved from a light color hardwood, Polychrome paint

Description:  This male colonial figure (likely a priest) wears a hat with buttoned shirt under a traditional robe.  The pecked decoration is a hallmark of Ona and his various schools.   Ona was a gifted carver and lived in Nigeria producing carvings into the 1950's.
