1930S FOLK ART OLIVE OYL DOLL

Description:  This charming Olive Oyl doll from the famous Popeye comic strip was skillfully handmade by the common man.  It dates to the 1930's and is fashioned from humble materials (felt shoes, wire body, red silk, yarn flowered trim, and cotton).   She is presented on a period wood and metal doll stand.   Condition is good considering all the use and play she must have received.  There is an old mend to the nose and cheek.
