Description:  Here's an old well used Shaman’s Drum featuring a large and impressively carved wood Phurba (Ritual Dagger) handle with 3 faces.  It has its original applied traditional painted decoration on both sides which is now somewhat faded from long use.  This drum was used by a Shaman to induce trance and call a local deity or ancestor into his body.  As a channel for the village deity the Shaman could answer questions and perform necessary healings at will.  It has acquired a dark, rich and glossy patina.  In good condition and sounds well.
