CAMEROON WOMAN'S BEADED CACHE-SEXE APRON W/ CHAIN FRINGE

Period/Date: Early 20th century

Materials:  fiber, glass beads, brass chain

Description:  This simple yet attractive apron has 3 bands of red and navy blue beads.  Its brass chain fringe measures from 1.5 to 2.5".  This apron is very heavy which suggest that it was likely worn as a "dance apron" and not for everyday use.     In very good condition and it doesn't appear to have ever been mended or reworked.
