KAMBA WOMAN'S BEADED CACHE-SEXE APRON, KENYA

Origin: Kenya, Kamba People (Provenance: Acquired from an old collection in Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Period/Date: Early 20th century

Materials:  fiber, beads, brass chain

Description:  This lovely beaded apron with graphic pattern features one inch brass chain fringe.  In very good condition for its age with an old stitched mend in the center.  Some missing chain fringe on the left side and the cord for tying around the waist appears to be a later replacement.

Dimensions:   Width (not including cord) 11"  (28 cm), height 7.25"  (18.5 cm)
