CAMEROON WOMAN'S BEADED CACHE-SEXE APRON W/ DUAL PANELS

Origin: N. Cameroon or Chad, Mandara Mountains, Kirdi People or related group     (Provenance: Acquired from an old collection in Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Period/Date: mid 20th century

Materials:  cotton, glass beads, cowrie shells.

Description:  This stunning apron has long lavish fringe with cowries and features dual triangular panels.  Colors and graphic design are very vibrant.  When one flap is opened there is a "pocket" for personal items.   In very good condition showing moderate to light usage.

Dimensions:   Width (not including cord) 9"  (23 cm), height 9.5"  (24 cm), Overall width when opened 17.25" (43.5 cm)
