CLASSIC W. DESERT SPEARTHROWER W/ INCISED ZIG-ZAG MOTIF 

Origin:   Australia, Western Desert  (Provenance: Acquired from a 70+ year old collection of ethnographic weapons in upstate New York)

Period/Date:  Likely circa 1900-1920

Materials:  Hardwood, ocher pigment, twine/sinew, resin 

Description:  This classic "woomera" is presented on a custom metal display stand.  It is stone-carved featuring an incised zig-zag snake-like motif.  In good condition complete with its original wooden barb!   Warm rich patina from age and traditional use.
