Rare Out of Print:  EXHIBITION CATALOG "ODDITIES & ABERRATIONS"

Item Code: MIS205-756

Description:  This rare and unusual exhibit was held to benefit charitable organizations which help tribal people such as Survival International, and the Village Relief Foundation.  It was warmly embraced and filled with excitement and was held on February 11th-13th 2004 at the Fort Mason Center Firehouse in San Francisco.  The objects selected were generously loaned by various known collectors and many important dealers.  The printing was limited to 400 catalogs.  It is now a collector's item 14 years later, especially because of its back cover.  The late great eccentric skull collector and tribal art dealer William Jamieson featured a full page ad with a shrunken head "tsantsa" and 3 skulls.  His unfortunate death was early and untimely, yet this special catalog immortalizes the man and the legend in so many ways.  The catalog is 44 pages, not including the cover, having 52 intriguing art objects from Africa, Asia, Indonesia, New Guinea, Polynesia, The Philippines, Australia and South America.  A limited stock is remaining and we just brought our last boxes out of storage.  The catalogs are new old stock but may contain minor rubbing on the covers or spines.
